After the events of the first heist, the group finds themselves preparing for another heist, this time on the Bank of Spain.


The show initially had only two parts as it didn’t perform very well on the domestic platform in Spain. But everything changed after Netflix acquired the exclusive global streaming rights of the show. The streaming platform dubbed the Spanish series and renamed it from La Casa De Papel to Money Heist for its international release. The series became the most-watched non-English language series within four months of its release on Netflix in early 2018. The streaming giant officially renewed the show for the third part with an increased budget on 18 April 2018, and it got released on 19 July 2019, which made it the most popular show on Netflix during the third quarter. The latest part 4 of the series got released on 3 April 2020, which broke numerous records for a non-English show.
A documentary also got released on Netflix on the same day, titled Money Heist: The Phenomenon, which featured the cast and producers of the show.


On 31 July 2020, Netflix announced that the Spanish series would get renewed for a fifth and final season, which will consist of 10 episodes. The production of all Netflix original series got a pause due to the ongoing pandemic, but on 14 May 2021, the shooting of the final season concluded.
In a recent interview, the creator of the series Alex Pina confirmed that the fifth and final part of the series would get released in September 2021.

Friends Reunion premiering on May 27, the first teaser is out
